This self-pacing mini-course includes the four lessons in the Creating Distance Series 39, email feedback for each lesson and two live online coaching sessions with Dianne.
The concept taught in this course is this: As images move into a distance their characteristics gradually change. We will see value contrasts decreasing from strong to close, hues might gently merge from one to another, intensities often become more neutral, textures can progressively disappear, and sizes will steadily become smaller.
We can create distance in our paintings by creating these changes in our images. The four lessons in this mini-course give guidance in that direction.
Here’s how the course works:
1. Begin with the Lesson 1, Gradating with Color. Watch the lesson, then do the Prompt that Dianne assigns at the end. If you have any questions, email Dianne by going to the Contact page on the website.
2. Once you complete the exercise in the Prompt, take a photo of your study and send it to Dianne, then schedule a live coaching session with her by going to a link she will provide and choosing a time frame that works for you.
3. Your coaching session with Dianne will determine your next step, whether it would be better to re-visit the principles in Lesson 1 or to continue with Lesson 2.
4. This will get you started. Dianne will guide you as needed with the next three lessons. Your second coaching session will be determined by when you want to schedule it.
