Weaving Through Edges is the four lesson of Series Three,  Power of Lost Edges.  Watch as Dianne uses a male cardinal in snow to show how weaving through edges can be an effective way to unify an image with its surroundings.  And you’ll get a kick out of hearing her try to spell “sfumato”. Summary:  In this lesson, Dianne begins by explaining how she decided what colors to use and why.  The colors are set up in value lines.  Throughout the development of the study, she explains her color choices and gives several technical tips apply applying color.  She goes into why soft edges are important and rather comically, introduces the term “sfumato”.  One the images in the study are in place, she shows how to use a third color to weave through edges from negative to positive.

This is the fourth lesson in the Series Three, The Power of the Lost Edge.  In each of these lessons, Dianne breaks down step by step the techniques for creating lost edges in a painting.
