Series 6: Decoding Harmony
S6 L2 Harmonizing with Complements–DVD
In this lesson, S6L2 Harmonizing with Complements of DECODING HARMONY, Dianne shows how to select a palette of double split complementary colors that, when used together can give harmony to any subject where the overall imagery is made up of complementary colors. Keeping a painting in tune is what harmony is all about. .Using as her subject a closeup of a red rose, she checks with each mixture to be sure that it contains the potential for being in harmony with colors already present. Within this lesson, Dianne gives you an often overlooked tip–how to chose a neutral with which to harmonize rather than just changing the hue of a color.
This is probably one of the most comprehensive lessons among all those we currently offer because it takes you right up to the finish line, with explanations step-by-step as to how and why these principles are working.
